Stating that the congress party will extend support to the union govt for amending MMDR act if NDA govt tables the bill at the Parliament, leader of opposition Chandrakant Kavalekar said that the BJP state president Vinay Tendulkar should seek an all party meet appointment, from the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi in regards with resumption of mining activity in Goa.
Hundreds of mining dependents across the state on Friday marched to congress and Goa forward Parties headquarters in Panjim ahead of the upcoming parliament session.
Kavalekar, further said that the state govt should convey an one day assembly session to discuss and deliberate on the fate of the Goa mining issue. He maintained, that its leaders will meet its president Rahul Gandhi to take up the mining issue at the forth coming Parliament session.
The mining affected people further marched to Goa Forward Party headquarter and meet its president Vijai Sardesai. Speaking to mining dependents, Sardesai said that BJP had to resolve the issue ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. He maintained that BJP will face the elections in next 6 months hence union minister Shripad Naik should resolve the issue.
