GOA FISH IMPORT BAN ROW: KARNATAKA MLA’S AND MP’S TO MEET RANE PLEADING FOR RELAXATION ON TUESDAY

Couple of days after, fishermen from the North Karnataka starts pressuring its legislators and politicians to intervene into the Interstate Fish Import Formalin Row, a delegation of MLA’s and fishermen leaders from coastal Karnataka, headed by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has decided meet Food and Drug Administration minister Vishwajeet Rane on Tuesday in Goa.

Stating that, people exporting fish to Goa from North Karnataka do not use any preservative chemical while transportation, its revenue minister R V Deshpande has urged the state govt for relaxation in Goa govt’s fish import norms.

Earlier, this month Vishwajeet Rane headed Goa health department through at notification has banned interstate fish import in Goa, until the traders comply all food safety guidelines prescribed by Food and drugs administration of Goa to keep a quality check on imported fish.
