The Trial court in Ponda is expected to resolve dispute between Mahajan’s and Madkai villagers ahead of Zatra celebrations on 1st December. The situation at the Madkai village remained tense after mahajans filed petition earlier this week, at Ponda court stating that the inventory of the temple belonged to Navadurga Prathistan members.
On directives of the court, the bailiff of the court will visit the temple premises on 1st December at around 11:30 am. The bailiff is expected to seal inventory of the temple which happens to be in dispute. Heavy police force has been deployed by the district administration to maintain law and order situation in the village.
At 4:00 PM on 1st December, the trial court in Ponda will hear petition and attempt to resolve the conflict amongst Mahajans and villagers. Several villagers including Ashwinkumar Naik, Shailesh Panjikar & Ghaisas family are named by the petitioners in the temple inventory trespass petition.
