The directorate of Food and drugs Administration in Goa under RTI information reply has stated that it has no documents available in office records, pertaining to fish formalin adulteration spot test conducted on 12th July 2018 in south Goa.
On, 12th July 2018 – FDA Designated Officer (South) Iva Fernandes, in its spot test at Margao market had indicated adulteration of formalin in the fish imported to Goa from other states. The FDA also claims that, it does not have any records pertaining to adulteration of chemicals in meat for past two years.
The shiv Sena in Goa, has urged the state government to relax FDA guidelines for residents from Karwar and Sindhudurg region. Addressing media persons in Panjim on Thursday, shiv sena leader Jitesh Kamat said that the state government authorities should check all fish consignments on boarders, before entering the state.
