The town and country planning, Board has identified around 1.5 crore square metres of land across the state which has been illegally converted by the people in absence of proper land conversion laws.
Addressing media persons at the secretariat complex in Porvorim, after chairing the TCP board meeting Vijai Sardesai said that “Around 300 cases have been identified by the board, who have sub divided there plots. The board will sent show cause notice to all defaulters, so that they can regularise their properties under newly amended section 16B of TCP Act. If they do not reply to the show cause notice, by 26th January 2019, the state government will serious legal course of action.”
He maintained that the TCP board will scrutinise and regularise land on case to case basics after voliators respond to show cause notice . Sardesai said that “Highest illegalities are reported at Bicholim, while least in Mormugao”.
