A two-day strike on January 8 and 9 has been called by the central trade unions against the alleged repressive policies for workers adopted by the government.
Transporters, Govt Employees Union, Industrial Unions have extended to the National bandh. The state government has invoked ESAM for 6 months ahead of the strike. Schools will not remain closed tomorrow .
Private Bus operator president, Sudip Tamankar told The Goajunction that non of the Buses will ply in the state on 9th January. He however maintained that On 8th January employees will gather at the Panjim bus stand in morning and hold a public meeting at Azad Maidan. Private buses will not go off road on Wednesday.
Mining dependents and local market vendors are also expected to extend support to the bandh. The state government run Kadamba corporation have geared up its machinery, so that commuters journey are not affected.
