Chimbel villagers backed by social worker Rudolf Fernandes on Tuesday said that “Religious sentiments of villagers will be hurt if, IT park is setup in the proposed site at Chimbel”. Villagers said that they were not opposing the IT park project and The state government may built it elsewhere, but not at the proposed site.
Addressing media persons in Panjim, Rudolf said that, If govt remains reluctant and does not withdraw the project from Chimbel, Villagers will March to the legislative assembly complex in Porvorim, during the forthcoming assembly session. He said that the fresh water lake in the Chimbel will be affected if the IT project comes next to eco sensitive areas.
The state government has summonsed 3-day legislative assembly session from 29th January.
