The travel and tourism Association of Goa, on Friday slammed state government and the state tourism Minister Manohar Azganokar for decline of tourist in Goa.
Addressing media persons in Panjim, TTAG President Savio Messias said that decline was due the effect Demonetization, Introduction of GST in the state. He also said that failure of the state govt to clean garbage from beaches, digging up of roads due to public infra projects like lying on sewage treatment pipe line, high taxi fare, harassment by police officials to tourist were some the reasons for the decline of tourist in Goa.
TTAG also maintained that due to long procedures prescribed by the state govt for organizing weddings on beaches and heavy taxes levied by the govt for hosting EMD’s like Sunburn has also affected the tourism industry in Goa.
Messias said that the Goa tourism minister had declined to meet the TTAG members as he had no knowledge about the operations of tourism industry in Goa.
