The Goa Kshatriya Maratha Samaj president on Tuesday expressed that the future existance of the traditional Hindu fishermen community in Goa was in dark, as people within the Samaj were not united.
Addressing media persons in Panjim, it’s president Gajanand Halarnkar said that the Government and the political parties in the state do not take community into the confidence while dispersing schemes and jobs were because the people within the community are not integrated. He maintained that with just one MLA in the assembly, it was not possible for the samaj to mount pressure on the government for welfare of the community people.
He said that the recently elected new committee had decided to host a show of strength, shigmo Parade on occasion of the Shivjayanti celebration at Porvorim on 23rd February.
Halarnkar, appeled politicians, enterprnuers, spritual leaders and social workers within the community to participate the Shivjayanti celebrations.
