HIGH COURT COMMITTEE RESPONSIBLE FOR DELAY IN CONSTRUCTION OF NEW COURT: LAW & JUDICIARY MINISTER – GOA

The Goa Law & Judiciary minister, Nilesh Cabral informed the state assembly on Wednesday that, for executing – suggestions, changes and modifications recommended by the Goa high court appointed infra monitoring committee has been causing delay for the construction of new premises of district and sessions court at Merces in Tiswadi taluka.

Stating that 11 courts, will be setup at a single complex in Merces by 1st April 2021, Cabral told assembly that 10 courts across Goa yet function in private properties.

The work for the construction of the state of art premise has began in 2016 at Merces. Temporarily several trial courts have been shifted to Spacious building at EDC complex in Panjim.
