As an attempt to mount pressure on the state government, in respect to resumption of mining activity in Goa, people across the mining belt have called-on Bandh on 26th February.
Speaking to Goajunction, Goa Mining Dependents leader Puti Gaonkar said that all local markets and allied public places in the mining belt will remain closed tomorrow .
The congress party, has also extend it’s support to bandh ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The bandh comes after the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi declined to directly intervene into Goan mining Dependents plea last month.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in an letter of the union govt have insighted and apprehended, law and order situation in the Goan mining belt if the mining resumption was delayed.
