The Bombay High Court at Goa on Monday issued notices to Speaker of the Goa legislative assembly in a petition challenging the order of speaker dated 27.03.2019, approving the merger of MGP into BJP.
Petitioner Sadanand Vaigankar had sought disqualification of Goa Dy. CM Manohar Azgaonkar and PWD minister Deepak Pauskar on the ground that they have incurred disqualification under para 2 of tenth schedule of constitution of India.
According to Vaigankar, the Court while issuing the notice has observed that important question of law has arisen as to whether speaker had the jurisdiction to pass order approving the merger of party. The matter is now kept on 30.04.2019.
