GOVT RELUCTANT TO ADOPT SAFETY MEASURES WHILE NH17 CONSTRUCTION:  CONGRESS

The congress party on Thursday, slammed the state government over wearing-off of national highway 17 in Goa.  Stating that the BJP workers were involved into illegal hill cutting across the state for providing rubbles to national highway 17, the congress party took a jibe at the state government contractor M Venkata Rao.

Addressing media persons in Panjim, congress spokesperson Amarnath Panjikar said that M Venkata Rao Infra Projects Pvt Ltd, who has been executing work of the NH17 in Goa, did not adhere safety measures while constructing roads.  He further charged that lives of several 2 wheeler riders were endangered as the govt and contractor were reluctant to adopt safety measures of the construction sites.
