The North Goa collector R. Meneka on Saturday informed media that the police department had rounded up 13 history-sheeters ahead of the Panjim By polls.
Addressing media persons in Panjim , Meneka said that in wake of the attack on one of the bypoll candidate, the state government has rounded up 7 history-sheeters attached to Panjim Police station and 6 history-sheeters at Old Goa police station to avert any untoward incident at Panjim by polls.
She also informed media that indelible ink will be applied to the ring finger of the left hand at the May 19 elections.
Earlier on Friday, the BJP in Goa had filed and police complaint that its candidate Siddharth Kuncalienker was attacked in mala on Thursday night.
The election commission of India will conduct by elections in 30 polling stations between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on 19th May in Panjim for 22,485 eligible voters.
