GOA GOVT TO PROVIDE SECURITY TO GOAMILES, INITIATES LEGAL ACTION ON CHURCHILL. COLVA OBSERVES BANDH

Days after tussle between private taxi operators and Goa Miles app based taxi drivers exploded in colva, the Goa Chief minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Monday chaired a special meeting with various stake holders and politicians to resolve rift amongst them. Earlier, this day Colva residence observed bandh after Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao was booked by the police department for creating law and order situation in South Goa.

 

Goa CM Sawant after meeting taxi operators said, that the state government would provide security to  Goa Miles app vehicles plying in the state. He also said that the police officials would follow legal course of actions against Churchill Alemao in-regards with the complaint filed at police dept by taxi drivers. Pramod also told reporters that he would also seek report from the police department about taxi operator’s ruckus.

 

Alemao, said that he would extend his support to locals and would not allow to ply Goa Miles Vehicles in the costal belt in Colva.  He said that people from Colva have objected to app based taxi services only in costal belt and the app based service could remain functional in city areas.

 

Meanwhile,The officials of the Goa Miles app, informed media that  they intended to educate local taxi operators across the state and get absorb them into app based taxi hiring system.   Goa Miles also told reporters that the it would provide Rs. 22 per KM tariff to the private taxi operators, who intended to link their taxi’s to the app.
