Taking a jibe at the Goa Congress party, Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane on Monday said that the state government had geared up its machinery to keep a check on adulteration of preservatives in imported fish. Rane claims that Congress president Giresh Chodankar and Amarnath Panjikar were frustrated as they had no issues to criticize govt.
Speaking to media persons in Panjim on Monday, Rane said that the state government had roped-in central agencies, to test presence of formalin in imported fish at border check posts and market places. He said that equipment’s costing Rs 15 to 20 crore were sanctioned by the union govt to Goa when Suresh Prabhu was the minister. He maintained that technical glitches while implementing fish adulteration testing contract were resolved, and all testing mechanisms would be in place as soon as possible.
