Ahead of the fast approaching legislative assembly monsoon session, Goa chief minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Tuesday held series of meetings with respect to mining resumption, Railway double tracking and Mayem evacuee property issue at Panjim.
Mayem residents who attended the CM’s meet informed media that Abolition of Proprietorships, Titles and Grants of Lands Rules, 2015 was challenged in the court & hence people were facing problems to obtain sanads. Mayem Resident’s informed media that CM Sawant had assured them that govt had chalked out plan to respond to petition challenging evacuee property act.
Meanwhile, BJP MLA Nilesh Cabral said that government had began process from double tracking of south – central railway in Goa.
According to Mayem MLA, Pravin Zantye the state government has decided to begin procedures to resume mining activity in Goa by initially e-auctioning extracted ore and handling dumps in the state. He also informed media that, sawant had assured mining dependents that the state govt will commence mining activity from October 2019.
