The Goa chief minister, Pramod Sawant on Tuesday informed the state legislative assembly that Goans were exploited for money, by drug suppliers in Goa. He said that police department had not nabbed any big suppliers for drugs in the state. He maintained that Goan between an age group of 20 yrs to 35 yrs were involved into drug trafficking activities.
Stating that 380 Grams of Ganja, was seized by police dept in an raid conducted at Campal Parade ground, Sawant maintained that none of the drug peddlers were arrested at CCP’s Narcotics raid conducted last week . He however maintained that, the police dept would further quiz campal hut migrants .
Responding to leader of opposition, Digambar Kamat’s question, Sawant further told the assembly that the police dept had sized around drugs worth Rs. 1.5 crore for past 2 years. He said that Ganja, charas were available in Goa.
Earlier, asking an supplementary question, Panjim MLA Babush Monserate accused that the police officials were in Hand-in-Glows with peddlers trafficking drugs in the state. Monserate also said that alleged peddlers possessed PAN card with them .
