The Goa Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant on Wednesday informed the state assembly that around 3000 non-governmental organisations, across the state were creating obstruction to government projects in Goa. Sawant said that, out of 3000 NGO’s, around 2000 were not registered in Goa. He said that – Even, if the state government was willing to setup infra to felicitate tourists on costal belts, it was objected by NGO’s. He further said that the state govt would try to put all essential infra required for tourism in place, in near future.
Responding to BJP MLA, Wilfred D’sa question – Tourism Minister Manohar Azgaonkar told the august house that many proposed developmental works, on Goan costal belt were pending as rules & regulations of Costal Regulation Zoning, were changing frequently. He however maintained that its tourism department was taking efforts to seek relaxation from the CRZ authorities to setup essential services like setting-up toilets and changing rooms on Goan Beaches.
