The Goa waste management minister, Michal Lobo on Monday informed media persons that state govt was firm to setup state-of-art garbage treatment plant at Bainguinim. Speaking to media persons at Porvorim, Lobo said that “We are going as per the directions of high court. The state govt has given a commitment to commission of the garbage treatment plant at Bainguinim in 28 months, but will start the plant in next 2 years”.
Responding media persons questions lobo further said that “The trend of opposing garbage plant was going all over India and Goa. Slowly people were changing. Setting up garbage treatment plant was an need on an hour”.
Last this week, several residents from Bainguinim opposed setting up garbage treatment plant in their vicinity.
