At times, when a natural catrasophy like situation has stuck the state, due to heavy rain falls and release of water from tillari dam, the state government has deployed in multi-government agencies to rescue people in low lying areas, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed the state legislative assembly on Thursday responding to a zero hour mention.
Sawant appealed the people in distress not to panic and be evacuated by Fire and Emergency, Police, Health, Captain of Ports & Revenue dept and get rehabilated in centers setup by govt.
He told the house that govt presently had no solution to control flooding like situation in low lying areas. He asserted that structural stability of Tillari and Ajnunem dam was perfectly safe and sound.
He said that, Several houses, vehicles and agricultural land across the Goa have plunged in water and situation would prevail till friday noon.
Sawant said that, people circulating fake trolls on social media, would be booked for creating panic in the society.
He maintained that supply of groceries, dairy products and vegetables have hit the market, as interstate transportation was hampered. He appealed to private companies in Goa to provide assistance for flood victims under CSR activity.

Sawant said that the govt will make a detailed project report on losses incurred due to flooding in next 5 days and request center to provide financial assistance.
