The Goa housing minister, Mauvin Godhino on Friday informed the state legislative assembly that it will increase existing 15 years domicile for purchasing housing board plots and flats to 25 years.
Responding to private members resolution tabled by Congress MLA, – Godhino said that it has recently witnessed by the govt that, a small plot at a prime location in Porvorim, was auctioned and sold over Rs. 1 crore to a non Goan by the housing board. …. Goans could not afford to bid for the plot….. Gaonkars administrating comunidades, create plots and sell them to non-goans. Hence, the housing ministry has decided to increase domicile from 15 to 25 years, so that Goan origins get plots from housing board.
