Minimum of Rs. 10 crore loss has been incurred from the floods that occurred in Goa earlier this week due to heavy rains and opening of the tittari dam gates, Indian minister for state defence Shripad Naik told media persons after holding Goa flood review meeting.
North Goa, MP – Naik said that he had decided to provide Rs. 50 Lakhs from the MPLAD funds to relief victims through the state disaster management authorities.
He said that the state beauracrates would complete detailed survey of the affected areas within 8 days.
Naik, said that he would try to seek financial assistance from the center to the state from providing relief to victims.
Additional collector, Vikas Gaunekar informed media persons that non of the people evacuated during flooding, were in the govt shelters. He however maintained that around 10 to 20 people, whose houses were demolished are currently residing at there relatives places.
