The Goa ports minister, Micheal Lobo on Thursday informed Media persons that the state government will renew permissions for mooring of offshore casino vessels in river Mandovi in Panjim for next 6 months.
According to the state government decisions, permissions for mooring all offshore casino vessels from river Mandovi expires on 30th September 2019.
Speaking to media persons in Porvorim, Lobo said that the state government can’t arbitrarily throw out casino vessels from river Mandovi. He said that “We will provide extension for mooring ships in river Mandovi until alternate site is not identified or all casinos are shifted at the Mopa gaming site.
He said that, the captain of ports department in coming days will conduct a joint inspection with its feeder boat, to find an alternate site for mooring casino vessels off Aguda bay coast. Lobo said that, Panjim MLA Babush Monserrate would also be taken into confidence while conducting the inspection.
