DENGUE DETECTION CASES ARE DECREASED, BUT DEATHS DUE TO DENGUE HAVE INCREASED :  RANE, HM – GOA

The Goa health minister, Vishwajeet Rane on Saturday informed media persons that the dengue detection case across Goa had decreased compared to last year, however – deaths due to dengue had increased.

Stating that the outbreak of vector-borne diseases in Goa is caused due to stagnation of fresh water, Rane said that government was taking all measures curb outbreak.

Rane said that the government will amend the state public health act, to impose heavy fines on infrastructure contractors for not keeping their construction sites in hygienic conditions.

He said that the health condition of the construction sites in Miramar were not proper.
