The Goa Chief Secretary, Parimal Rai – will administrate the annual multi-agency coastal security drill, ”Sagar Kavach” on 18th and 19th September.
The drill is held every year, ahead of the commencement of “Tourism season” to keep a check on preparedness of several “Real Time” responding security agencies in Goa.
Multiple agencies which includes the Coast Guard, Indian Navy, Goa Police, Goa Coastal security intelligence agencies, Central Industrial Security Force, Customs and civilian departments like the Mormugao Port Trust, Captain of Ports will be participating in the exercise which will be coordinated by the Coast Guard.
On, 20th Sept – Indian Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman will chair the GST council meeting in Goa, which will attended by the representatives of all the states of India. On behalf of Goa, BJP MLA Mauvin Godinho will attend the meeting. Goa Chief minister Dr. Pramod Sawant is also expected to attend the meeting.
This year, the drill is aimed at providing seamless seaward cover along the Goa coastline, jointly by all security agencies from coastal belt area line to the limit of territorial waters.
