The Goa ports minister, Michael Lobo on Monday said that “There was no chance for casinos to come to Aguada”. He said that “We will bring casinos on the other side of the Aguada bay but it will not affect anybody.”
The statements from Lobo comes days after Calangute Congress leaders, Agnelo Fernandes had opposed shifting of Casino vessels from river Mandovi to Aguada bay. Congress block workers from have warned the state government to stage protest demonstration if the casinos were shifted to Aguada.
Taking a jibe Fernandes, Lobo said that “If Agnelo Fernandes is making some allegations under the Congress banner then he is insulting his own party. Congress gave entry to offshore casinos in River Mandovi. He should not fool the people. The two land casinos in Calangute are brought by him. We stopped the third one.”
