The state cabinet headed Goa chief minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Wednesday scrapped its Inter Departmental Committee of Officers (IDCO) for creating jobs in the state government sector.
Addressing media persons after the cabinet meeting at the secretariat complex in Porvorim , Dr. Sawant informed media persons that the cabinet had given in consent to scrap the IDCO committee for seeking approval from the state government for creating the post. He said that, hence forth the files pertaining to creation of the vacancies in the government sector would have to be cleared by Administrative Reforms Department, Personal Dept and Finance Department independently.
Sawant said that although, the government had scrapped the IDCO committee, all the recruitment would be done by Goa Staff Selection Commission. He further said that staff selection commission would be headed by Goa Finance Secretary, Puneet Kumar Goel with Daulat A. Hawaldar, as 1st link officer and registrar of cooperative society Menino D’Souza as 2nd link officer.
