The Congress party in Goa, urged the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi to probe into the affairs of Mormugao Port Trust ( MPT ) for permitting and docking Naptha carrying vessel from Pakistan. Congress claims that Indian National Security was taken for granted, by docking 2,400 tonne onboard naptha carrying wrecked vessel from last 3 months.
Addressing media persons, Goa Congress president, Giresh Chodankar said that the Indian Navy should impound the vessel as soon as possible, to avert unfortunate incident and the central investigating agencies should probe Vasco MLA Milind Naik’s role if any, for docking MV “Nu Shi Nalini” at the MPT.
Chodankar accused that the Goa Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant had recently taken interest in rescuing the vessel, after it was drifted from MPT and grounded next to Goa Governor’s palace at Donapula due to Kyarr cyclone.
He said that the stranded Nalini, was brought to MPT from Cochin port for repair, when there were no facilities to remove Naptha from vessel, nor MPT had amenities to revamp it.
