In a bid to curb to tourist drowning cases in Goa, the state government has decided to book tourist drinking alcohol on the beaches, chief minister Pramod Sawant told reporters on Tuesday.
Dr. Sawant, said that the government had decided to deploy Indian Reserve Battalions police personals on beaches to curb tourist drowning cases in Goa. He said that several tourist, visiting Goa during vacation booze and venture into beaches for swimming. Such tourists are reluctant to listen to life guards. Hence, drowning accidents occur on Goan shore.
The statement from the CM, comes days after the employees of beach lifeguard services commenced their strike demanding high pay scale and allied allowances.
