The Goa chief minister, Pramod Sawant on Tuesday informed media persons that the state government was gearing up to mark the former Indian defence minister and Goa CM, Late Manohar Parrikar’s birth anniversary in the state on 13th December.
Addressing media persons in Panjim, Sawant said that the Science and Technology Department will host 2 day – “Manohar Parrikar Vidnyan Mahotsav” at NIO in Donapula. He said that Former Scientist of Indian Defence Research and Development Organization Vijay Sarawat, Ex-ISRO chief A. S. Kumar, R. Navalgund , IIT Director Ashok Misra, CSIR Director Shekhar Mande would deliver scientific talk on the occasion.
He said that the government will lay foundation stone for constructing Parrikar’s Memorial at Miramar on his birthday. The foundation stone to setup Parrikar law college in would be laid on the same day.
