In a bid to mark Golden Jubilee celebrations of International Film Festival of India, the state government is contemplating to exempt 50% taxes and fees for film makers carrying out shooting in the state. Top source, in the state bureaucracy told the Goajunction, that the Dr. Pramod Sawant Government intended to create a state-of-art eco-system for boosting the film making industry in Goa.
According to the state bureaucracy, 50% taxes could be exempted for national and overseas film makers and producers for next two financial years. The state government, also intends exempt 75% film production taxes and fees for Goans film producers.
The top sources, said that government intended to exempt taxes, thereby indirectly increase influx of foreign and national tourists in the state. It claims that since substantial amount of Goans youth have exposure to digital technologies, it would provide quality employment opportunities to the youth in technical and allied film making sector.
