In the night of 18.11.2019, a team of Anti Narcotic Cell Police Station of Goa Police conducted a narcotics raid near KTC Bus Stand Margao Goa and apprehended one Indian national Silu Mali s/o Lukash Mali, Age- 24 yrs, N/o Odisha for being in illegal possession of around 3.410 Kgs of suspected Ganja worth over Rs. 3.5 lakhs in the international market. The seized contraband was found concealed in his shoulder bag and meant for illegal sale to tourists of Goa in the tourist season that has just started.
Accordingly, FIR No. 22/2019 under the relevant sections of NDPS Act meant for the quantity of Ganja has been registered at Anti narcotic Cell Police Station on 19/11/2019 against the accused person. Further investigation in the case is carried out by PSI Arun Desai of ANC PS.
The police department said that “Upon interrogation of the accused Silu Mali it was revealed that he has come down to Goa from his native place and was in the search of prospective customers for setting his illegal narcotics business in the State in the upcoming tourist season”.
