Several members of the civil society, political fronts, freedom fighters and religious institutions under the banner of Madhai Bachao Andolan on Tuesday staged a protest rally in Panjim, opposing river Madhai water diversion at Kalsa Bhanduri in Karnataka.
Leaders of Aam Admi Party, Congress, Goa Suraksha Manch and Shiv Sena slammed the state government for not representing the inter-state basin water diversion issue with the MOEF properly.
Addressing on the occasion, former Goa RSS chief Subhash Velingkar slammed teachers and politicians for not taking Karnataka water diversion issue seriously. He said that since most of teachers, had become selfish, the society was becoming reluctant and insensitive towards issue. Velingkar accused that teacher community in Goa was destroying Goa.
Velingkar also took a jibe at the Former chief ministers Parrikar, Parsekar and Sawant were destroying the state.
