Stating that the state government was not prepared to handle coastal oil spillage, the Indian coast guard on Friday slammed state bureaucracy while conducting a pollution drill exercise at Miramar. Speaking to media persons, commandant Amitabh Das, said that state authorities were not up to the mark to cater oil spillage uneventfully along its coast. He said that lot of improvement was required by the state authorities and they have to gear up much more for getting actual professional acumen as per as the shore line clean up is considered.
Earlier, this morning complete Miramar beach was quarantined by Goa police and allied security forces. On behalf of the state government, North Goa collector R. Menaka was administrating the drill.
