WILL NOT IMPLEMENT, NEW AMENDED GADKARI’S TRAFFIC ACT UNTIL FINES ARE REDUCED : GOA  GOVT

Facing major outcry from people of Goa, over enhancing fines for traffic volitions, the state transport ministry has decided not to implement the new amended traffic legislation until the rates of fines are reduced.

Speaking to media persons, Transport minister Mauvin Godhino said that it will consult the union government’s traffic council and request them to reduce the fines.  He said that the national council, comprising of transport minister across India will meet on Thursday in Delhi and try to reduce the fine rates.  He maintained that people in Goa, have raised  objections to hike fines for various violations including wearing helmets in Goa.
