The state legislative assembly commenced its budget session from Monday. As per the affidavit filed by politicians as elections commission of India most of MLA’s in Goa are involved real estate’s development, leasing properties, harvesting or mining of natural resources and running educational institutes seek grants state government.
For most of the MLA’s Forest, TCP, Panchayat, Revenue, Education, Communidade, PWD, Electricity have become principal departments to carry out business in the state. Not many MLA’s are involved in manufacturing activity in Goa.
According the state assembly, on Monday MLA’s asked 21 question (starred and unstarred) pertaining to forest department. Most of the question asked was pertaining to private forest land conversation. 37 questions were asked in regards with revenue department. Most of the questions asked in revenue dept were pertaining to communidade lands or land title clearances.
Since, substantial politicians in recent past have setup educational institutions in the state, 23 questions pertaining (starred and unstarred) were asked by MLA’s to education department. Least questions were asked by MLA’s in regards with Administrative reforms.
Goa CM Pramod Sawant responding to a question tabled by leader of opposition Digambar Kamat informed the state assembly that around Rs. 3 crore payments of self help group were pending the education dept. He said that govt will pay all pending dues within 8 working days. Sawant, however maintained that the government was inapt to resolve the disputes within self help groups.
