The state government on Monday, has announced it had intelligence inputs regarding possible terror threats along the Western Coast of India and the possibility of antisocial elements with an intention of committing crime in Goa. In awake of the same, North Goa collector R. Menaka has involved section 144 for 60 days.
The collector has requested Hotels, lodging and boarding, private guest houses, paying guest accommodation of religious bodies to ensure proper verification of their guests.
Menaka, has also directed all cyber cafes and internet hot spots to maintain records of their customers and visitors.
This order shall come into force w.e.f. 11-02-2020 and shall be effective for a period of 60 days that is upto 10-04-2020 (both days inclusive) unless withdrawn earlier. Any person contravening this order shall be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
