As the state election commission on Wednesday commenced to accept nomination forms for the Zillia Panchayat polls in Goa, the state BJP, declared names of 18 candidates to contest elections. Out of 18 candidates, 6 of those are seating ZP members.
Addressing on the occasion, Goa BJP Chief Sadanand Tanavde said that it would will the ZP elections with comfortable majority in both the districts. He said that allegations made by congress party in recent past are baseless. Tanavde, said that candidate deficit congress party was trying to create confusion amongst Goa. He maintained that, the state election commission and Panchayat Directorate were independent authorities, which would conduct free and fair elections.
