COVID-19: HEALTH MINISTRY ISSUES GUIDELINES REFRAINING HOSTING MASS GATHERINGS. HOLI, SHIGMO PARADE LIKELY TO BE AFFECTED IN GOA

Following guidelines issued by the union health ministry in regards with Covid-19 virus outbreak, the state government of Friday appealed people of Goa, refrain attending and hosting mass public gatherings in the state.  Addressing media persons in Panjim,  Goa Health Minister, Vishwajeet Rane said that the state health ministry had requested a union Govt to setup proper authority at Goa Airport and MPT port to conduct proper screening of visitors.

Responding to media persons in regards with forthcoming Holi and Shigmo parades in Goa, Rane said that people in the state need to voluntarily refrain from going to mass gatherings. He however maintained that govt will not ban hosting of any public functions in the state.  

Rane, said that the state government had setup special wards at GMC, Chicalim and sanqulim to isolate suspicious patients.
