In wake of COVID-19 guidelines, the Ponda municipal council has decided not to celebrate Holi festival on 10th March. The state government will however kick off its Shigmo Parade tomorrow evening in Ponda. Goa govt has advised people witnessing cold & fever not to participate at Shigmo Parade.
Speaking to Goajunction, Municipal chairperson Venketesh Naik said that it has decided not to celebrate the Holi tomorrow due to Corona virus scare. He said that councilors will not hold traditional rally as a part of precautionary measure in regards with virus outbreak. Naik however maintained that it will conduct all traditional religious practices.
According to the state health ministry, 12 people quarantined were tested negative since outbreak of virus, while 3 patients results were awaited. The health department has advised people suffering with cold and fever not to attend the shigmo parade.
