The Goa Chief minister Pramod Sawant will review the Corona scare row on Saturday.
In wake of Covid-19 scare in the state, Goa Health Ministry on Friday has recommended to shut down schools and allied Mass gatherings including government functions and religious functions. Speaking to media persons in Panjim, Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane said that he would write to the chief minister Dr. Pramod Sawant requesting immediate closure of schools in state.
He said that, the health ministry will demand closer of schools till 9th Standard. He said that Goa Board of education may conduct SSC and HSSC exams in the state. Rane, also said propose suspension of the governments annual shigmo parades in the state.
Meanwhile, Goa Institute of Management ( GIM ) has postponed its convocation ceremony involving more than 360 management graduates, in view of the coronavirus outbreak.
“The convocation ceremony which was slated to be held on 27th March has been postponed to a later date. Once dates have been confirmed it will be shared with the students and faculty,” the GIM statement said.
GIM further said that “All student exchange programmes to universities abroad and international internships have been suspended for now. The institute will assist with identifying summer internship opportunities within the country instead.
