Since, there was a pressure on the state government from center to restart operations of the pharmaceutical companies, we have given permissions to commence production, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told reporters on Monday in Panjim.
He said that Goa was 4th largest manufacturers of pharmaceutical products of the country and if required, the companies would be shut after the review.
The Chief Minister further asserted media that pharma workers from neighboring states will not be permitted entry in Goa.
Last week, the government had permitted operations of pharma companies for manufacturing of essential medicines. Several pharma workers had complained that companies manufacturing non essential cosmetics & export products were flouting norms.
