STATE GOVERNMENT IS MOCKING LOCKDOWN. HOD’S MISUSING AND ABUSING GUIDELINES: GOA CONGRESS

The State Government is making a mockery of the Lockdown by asking its staff and teachers to report to work despite having no work, without providing transport as promised to all and further confusion is compounded by imposing traffic rules which does not allow pillion riders on bike, even if they’re husband and wife, said Goa congress spokesperson Trajano D’Mello.

D’Mello said that many Heads of Department of state governments are misusing and abusing the guidelines and demanding all staff to report to office, where in many departments the norms of social distancing is being violated. Most of the staff having no work are just sitting idle.

He further said that many Principals/Headmasters of high schools are also violating the guidelines by demanding that teachers attend the schools despite them being closed as there are no examinations upto IXth Classes and XIth and are being asked to come only to sign the register.

These are serious violations as these Government staff and teachers are being exposed to the deadly virus of Covid19 as anyone who could be infected. The CM should immediately intervene and correct the whole situation failing which it would be on his conscience of any disastrous eventuality, he said.
