In a bid to revive the state’s economic activity, we have written to the union government for resuming mining activity in Goa. Since the supreme court of India is hearing only urgent matters, we don’t know when would the Goa mining case will be listed for hearing, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant told reporters via video press conference on Monday.
Dr. Sawant said that, we have requested the union government to find avenues to amend the mining act, so that the mining in the state commences.
He further said that the state government has permitted interstate transportation of ore and allied minerals as logistic transportation, as it comprises of import and export activities. He maintained, none of the drivers from inter-state logistic transportation would allowed to linger elsewhere.
