Opposition MLAs delegation, including Goa Forward Party’s Vijai Sardesai, Jayesh Salgaonkar and Congress’ Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco called upon Goa chief secretary on Tuesday demanding indigenous Standard Operating Procedure for combating COVID-19 Pandemic outbreak.
The opposition MLA’s urged the Goa CS to waive off paid quarantine for Goans working on ships amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai slammed the state government over drafting and implementation of Standard Operating Procedure for the Pandemic.
Sardesai, accused that the state government of discriminating against ethnic Goans and instead offering a red carpet to non-Goans entering the state during the lockdown.
The delegation also demanded that the state government should provide “white paper” on Goa’s preparedness to tackle any further spike in the cases.
Meanwhile, the state BJP criticized the opposition for politicizing the state government’s COVID-19 initiatives.
