In a bid to curl unemployment issues of youths in the Goa, the state government has permitted youths to put deck beds and Umbrellas on Goan beaches by paying registration fees to Goa tourism department.
According to Goa tourism rules notified by the state government, unemployed youth can put upto 8 deck beds, Umbrellas on Goan beaches by paying Rs. 875 per bed as annual registration fees. The tourism department further said that the shack owner will have to pay Rs. 10,000/- for 20 deckbeds annually, while Hoteliers will have to pay Rs. 5,000/- per deckbed/per season.
The Goa tourism department, has permitted erections of 259 beach shacks in North Goa, while 105 in South Goa.
