The state government will file a contempt petition at the supreme court against the Karnataka government for illegally diverting river Madhai water at Kalsa – Bandhuri, Goa chief minister told reporters in Panjim addressing press conference.
Dr. Sawant, further took a jibe at the Congress party and Goa Forward Party over Madhai water diversification row. He said that congress party never objected construction of the dam during its tenure between 2006 and 2012. Sawant said that, the then congress was busy in illegal mining while Karnataka was building the dam.
The statements from the Goa Chief Minister comes days after union minister Prakash Javadekar stated that Goa govt would clarify in regards with Madhai – Malprabha water diversification issue. Last week, congress and allied opposition also staged protest demonstration at Javadekar’s public engagement programs in Goa.
