In wake of rising COVID 19 cases across the country, the state government on Wednesday, imposed travel restriction for commuters coming to Goa. According to orders issued by North Goa District collector, Vandana Rao, thermal scanning for incoming passengers from airport and railway stations has been made mandatory.
Only those passengers who pass screening may go home/to their destination. Passengers with body temperature beyond acceptable range will be sent for covid test on payment basis of Rs. 2000 per individual, Rao said in her orders.
The district magistrate maintained that “Paid testing facilities will be available at airport and railway stations for arriving travelers. Persons travelling to Maharashtra by road, air, railway can obtain RT-PCR negative report from health authorities by paying Rs. 2000”.
