GOA ZP POLLS: LIQUOR SALE BAN ACROSS GOA ON 11, 12 & 14 DEC

According to Notification issued by Goa Finance Under secretary Pranab Bhat “In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (4) of Rule 99 of the Goa Excise Duty Rules, 1964, the Government of Goa, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest, hereby directs that all licensed premises -for the sale of liquor” located within the Zilla Panchayat Constituencies of North and South Goa Districts, shall be closed from 00.00 hrs. on 11th December, 2020 to midnight of 12th  December, 2020. being the day of Polling and from 00.00 hours of It December, 2020 upto midnight being the day to Counting of votes within the jurisdiction of the local body where counting is taking place in view of General Elections to Zilla Panchayats  Constituencies of North and South Goa. Districts, 2020, in the State of Goa.”

He further said “The licensed premises having licence for “Bar and Restaurant” may he allowed to keep the restaurant open for serving food only However, the Bar counter shall he closed and no liquor shall be allowed to be served on the above mentioned days. The owners of the license premises having “Bar & Restaurant” shall also display a hoard in the licensed premises, stating that no liquor will he served and that the restaurant will he open for serving food only”.
